Wi-Fi QR Code Generator
Create a Wi-Fi QR code so guests connect by scanning instead of typing your password. Works with WPA, WPA2, WPA3 and open networks.
Guests join your network without ever seeing the password.
Tick this if the network does not broadcast its name.
Anyone who scans this code gets your Wi-Fi password. Print it for a guest network, not for the network your other devices sit on.
Fill in the form and your QR code appears here.
Vector SVG for print, PNG for screens. This code never expires and has no scan limit.
Nothing is uploaded. The code is built by JavaScript running on your device — your links, passwords and contact details never reach our servers.
About wi-fi QR codes
A Wi-Fi QR code lets a guest join your network by pointing a camera at a card instead of typing a long password. iOS 11 and later and Android 10 and later both handle it in the built-in camera app; older Android usually manages through Google Lens.
The code contains a short text string with the network name, the security type and the password. There is no app and no server involved — the phone reads the credentials and offers to connect.
Because it is your password in machine-readable form, treat a printed Wi-Fi code as public disclosure. Put guests on a guest network or a separate VLAN, never on the network your point-of-sale terminal or file server sits on.
How to create one
- Enter the network name exactly. SSIDs are case sensitive, and a trailing space will break the connection.
- Choose the security type. WPA covers WPA, WPA2 and WPA3. WEP is legacy. Pick Open only if there is genuinely no password.
- Style the code. Open the Design tab to set colours, module shapes and an optional centre logo.
- Download. SVG for print, PNG or WebP for screens. Test the result with a real phone before you print a run.
Where people use these
Cafés and restaurants
A laminated card on each table ends the most repeated question of the day.
Short-term rentals
In the welcome book and beside the router, so guests never message you at midnight.
Offices and meeting rooms
Visitors get online without anyone reading a 24-character password across a desk.
Events and pop-ups
Print once on the signage and let hundreds of attendees connect themselves.
Frequently asked questions
- Which phones support Wi-Fi QR codes?
- iOS 11+ and Android 10+ connect straight from the camera app. Older Android devices generally work through Google Lens or a scanner app. Laptops have no native support, though someone can scan with a phone and read the password across.
- Is it safe to print my Wi-Fi password as a QR code?
- Only for a network you are happy to be public. Anyone who can photograph the card has your password, including from outside a window. Use a guest network with client isolation, and never encode credentials for a network that reaches payment or back-office systems.
- What if my password contains a semicolon or a comma?
- Those characters are field separators in the Wi-Fi payload format and have to be escaped with a backslash. This generator does that automatically, which is a common failure point in hand-built strings.
- Does it work for hidden networks?
- Yes — tick the hidden network option. The code then tells the phone not to wait for the SSID to be broadcast.
- Is it free, and does the code expire?
- Free, with no account and no watermark. The code is static, so the content lives in the pattern itself — there is no redirect to switch off and no scan limit to hit.
- Is my data sent to your servers?
- No. The code is built by JavaScript in your browser. Nothing you type is transmitted, which you can verify in your browser's network tab.
